FULL TEXT OF CHARTER
In nomine sancte et indiuidue trinitatis ego Galterus sancte Marie Laudunensis ecclesie decanus et tota canonicorum congregatio. Scriptorum consuetudo a patribus statuta ideo tenetur ut quod prolixitate temporis memoriam excederet scriptura superstes ad memoriam reduceret et rei geste argumentum in se euidenter obtineret. Quocirca notum esse uolumus tam modernis quam posteris quod in parrochia sancti Remigii de Grandiloco que nostra est monachi ecclesie sancti Martini de Tornaco in quadam curte que Chantrius uulgo dicitur manebant et ibidem ecclesiam solam sine cimiterio habebant. Quia uero fratres ibi commorantes ualde grauabantur deferendo corpora defunctorum suorum ad remota cimiteria Galterus abbas predicti monasterii nos adiens postulauit ut iuxta ecclesiam prefate curtis cimiterium benedici permitteremus. Nos uero pro eius religione piis petitionibus annuentes ibi fieri cimiterium hoc modo concessimus ut tam ipse quam monachi sui homines ecclesie nostre capite censos sine assensu nostro ad conuersionem non recipiant nec aliquem de parrochianis nostris ibidem sepeliant. Ut igitur hec nostra concessio in posterum inconcussa ualeat permanere istud cyrographum cum annotatione testium qui affuerunt nostra imagine muniri et inter nos et ecclesiam beati Martini diuidi precepimus.
